Golf

August was a rather light month for golf, with two matches, both ending in a predictable victory for the visiting and undefeated (in 2009) author. I was at the Philippines in early August to speak at two seminars, and I changed out of my bow tie and into golf attire to play the Palmer Course at The Orchard Golf and Country Club.

I continued my unparalleled winning streak through the month of July. On 1 July I won a hard fought match at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. I rested my clubs until 31 July, when I won a match at Bangkok Golf Club, not against my playing partner, but against the course.

I am happy to report that after going undefeated in May, I remained unbeatable in June, first winning at Dubai and then winning my matches at Mauritius as well. If I should go undefeated in 2009, I shall consider this my version of the Grand Slam.

If you golf, do you try to take your clubs to a salubrious place at least once a year? You should. I recently brought my clubs to Mauritius, and I like to think that they enjoyed their visit to this island republic, especially their trip by boat to the spectacular Le Touessrok Golf Course on Ile aux Cerfs, part of the Le Touessrok Resort.

I played golf this month at Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and Indonesia, going undefeated in all matches and winning a huge match at Sunrise Golf Club with a clutch birdie on the final hole.
