Amphawa Floating Market

A not insignificant advantage of the Sam Khok diet is my ability to eat at will when away from Sam Khok, as I did this weekend at the Amphawa floating market in Samut Songkram province. This market has a great atmosphere, excellent food, is packed with people, and one can hire a boat to explore the canals and see the fireflies in the trees. The fireflies make a spectacular display of synchronized bioluminescense, and one could mistake the fireflies for electric Christmas lights. Highly recommended.
